Getting My Call- March 21, 2013

Getting your call is so nerve racking! I am sort of a control freak so waiting all day to open the envelope that says where you are going to spend the next 18 months of your life was so hard. I wanted to secretly open it by myself but I knew this was something that my parents were so excited about so I waited patiently... ( well maybe not so much) for all my family to get home from their various practices and meetings. Once I finally got to open I got called to ... Oregon, Eugene Mission... That was not where I was expecting to go at all! My bishop kept talking about New York to me so I thought for sure that was where I was going. I knew I wanted to stay state side so that was no surprise to me but I wasn't expecting that side of the country. It made me laugh because a few days earlier i had commented about the fact that a couple of people in our ward had big O's on the back of their cars. Obviously a sign that i would be heading there haha. Once I got over the shock of it all I was very excited. Everyone tells me that it is just BEAUTIFUL there! I have never been one who payed super close attention to nature, I mean I love hiking and going to the lake but just looking out and appreciating nature will be a new experience for me!
